Runzo - Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 5, 2024
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using our product.
Runzo is a running analysis app that helps users analyze running form, heart rate zones, VO2max trends, and GPS route performance. Runzo may requests access to smart devices data (Apple Watch or Garmin Connect) in order to generate personalized performance analysis and plans, running posture insights, and long-term health trends.
We request access to Garmin Connect data to enable the following features:
Running performance analysis (pace trends, cadence, stride data)
Heart rate analysis (zones, intensity, HRV trends)
Route reconstruction using GPS data
Training load / recovery estimations
Long-term progress tracking and insights
Upon authorization from the user, Runzo may retrieve:
Activity data (distance, duration, pace, GPS)
Heart rate data
Steps and calories
Training metrics (VO2max, load, recovery, etc.)
Garmin data is used exclusively for generating:
Personalized running insights
Training recommendations
Performance summaries
Historical trend visualizations
Garmin data is only retrieved after explicit user authorization.
Users may revoke access at any time.
Users can revoke Garmin Connect access at any time via Garmin's account management page or from within the Runzo app.
Users may request full deletion of their Garmin-related data.
Data is not shared with any third parties.
Use of Clinical Health Records API
Our app uses the Clinical Health Records API to help users access and manage their health records. Upon user authorization, the app retrieves their health data (such as step count, calories burned, etc.) from HealthKit and displays this data in the app's interface. The user's information is not uploaded to any external servers. All data is stored only on the user's local device. The frequency of data access depends on the user's actions. Data is fetched from the API only when the user manually refreshes or actively views their health records. The app does not perform any automatic background refreshes of data.
When the user enters the app, they can swipe left on the Card on the home page and click the lock icon to be prompted to authorize access to their health data. The authorization flow clearly explains the types of health information we need access to (such as step count and calories burned). Users can revoke the app's authorization at any time by going to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.
The user's health information is used only for the core functionality of the app, which includes displaying health records and generating personalized health reminders. This data is not used for advertising, marketing, or any other purposes. The app does not share the user's data with third parties, nor does it use the data for any features that the user has not explicitly authorized.
All health data retrieved through the Clinical Health Records API is stored locally on the user's device. The data is protected using iOS system encryption to ensure user privacy. Neither the app development team nor any third parties can access the user's health data. Only the user can view this information through the app. Users can revoke authorization through the iPhone's Health settings, and if the user revokes permission or uninstalls the app, all locally stored data will be deleted.
